women in the news are often shown as cute,sweet and kind a prime example of this is Cheryl Cole in Afghanistan giving out rewards to solders who are on the front line i think this is a positive representation as it shows women as kind people who love to give however this is shows a celebrity so it may just be to boost her popularity.
