How women are represented in the media - TV

Through out my research i have deduced that the Television area of the media women are often shown as petite dumb people, a prime example of this is the only way is former Essex star Amy Child.

I feel my point is put by across this as in the show she play's a rather "thick" headed person that is obsessed with looking good, he personality in the show is a very glam hair dresser who hates the out doors. this is often taken on as the way all women think and behave.
