How women are represented in the media - films

In films in films the main ways women represented is as weak feeble beings my hypothesis is proved by the classic film series  Indiana Jones through out the series the main character Indie ha s many female "sidekicks" but all of them are portrayed in the same way  as feeble and weak but the performance that stood out for me was by Kate Capshaw in the temple of doom as through out the film she is very squeamish and is scared of everything from crickets to snakes.
